Gender Discrimination in K-12 Schools & Colleges

Have a case?

What is Gender Discrimination in K-12 Schools & Colleges?

Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in all federally funded educational programs. Most public and private schools are subject to Title IX. The law forbids unequal treatment or harassment based on sex, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Sexual violence like sexual assault is also prohibited. Title IX also requires equal opportunity in the classroom and in extracurricular activities, including sports.

We represent students when their schools fail to respond appropriately to gender discrimination. We uplift survivors’ voices. We also provide consulting services to schools and colleges that are serious about transforming culture and implementing policies and practices to build more inclusive educational communities.
