On June 28, 2021, Dr. Michael Salvana filed a lawsuit in federal court in Upstate New York alleging that he was forced from his position as Medical Director at the NY Department of Corrections Walsh Regional Medical Unit and later forced to retire because he blew the whistle on the inhumane treatment of critically ill patients.
