Case Summary

M&S is proud to announce the final approval of a nationwide consumer class settlement with Apple, Inc. concerning the company’s MagSafe adapter. You may be eligible to participate in the settlement, so please take a moment to review the following information.

M&S has been appointed class counsel in this case. Plaintiffs brought this case on behalf of a proposed nationwide class of Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro owners. Plaintiffs allege that the “MagSafe” adapter, the power cord which comes with the computer, is defectively designed and manufactured, causing the cable of the adapter to fray, spark, overheat, melt, cease functioning and occasionally catch fire.

On March 8, 2012 the federal court in the Northern District of California granted final approval of settlement of this case.
