The Washington, D.C. law firm of Mehri & Skalet, PLLC (“M&S”) seeks a litigation associate with 2-4 years of experience. M&S represents plaintiffs – primarily employees, whistleblowers, consumers, investors, and non-profits – in complex litigation under federal and state law. The firm engages in class action and impact litigation, including matters involving the False Claims Act, whistleblower rights, consumer protection violations, insurance, civil rights, employment discrimination, Title IX, and wage and hour. The associate will work in a variety of practice areas, primarily focusing on False Claims Act matters, whistleblower rights, and consumer rights. In addition to these cases, the attorney may be assigned to employment discrimination or wage and hour matters. The attorney will be responsible for handling all aspects of investigations, research, motion practice, and discovery. The attorney will work directly with clients and other attorneys often in a team environment. The position may involve travel throughout the United States.
Candidates should have litigation experience. Candidates must possess the ability to work well as part of a team but also be energetic self-starters with initiative. The position requires strong research and writing skills, the ability to communicate effectively with clients, a creative approach to litigation, excellent organizational and planning skills, a commitment to social justice, and an interest in representing plaintiffs. Relevant prior work experience includes litigation, class action experience, complex discovery, discovery of electronically stored information, and prior involvement with a public interest organization.
