Karla Gilbride joined Mehri & Skalet in July 2011. Her work focuses on the civil rights, wage and hour, and consumer protection aspects of the firm’s practice.
Before coming to Mehri & Skalet, Ms. Karla Gilbride served as a law clerk to Judge Ronald Gould on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Seattle. She then worked for three years at Disability Rights Advocates in Berkeley, California, where she brought class actions and other high-impact cases on behalf of people with disabilities on such issues as access to technology, emergency preparedness and accommodations on professional licensing exams.
Ms. Gilbride graduated with honors from Georgetown Law School in 2007. While at Georgetown she served on the Georgetown Journal of Poverty Law and Policy, participated in the Federal Legislation Clinic, and won regional and national victories in the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition.
In addition to Washington D.C., Ms. Gilbride is licensed to practice in New York and California as well as before several federal district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
